I didn't get a notification or email

Which things notify you, which arrive by email, and what to check.

Most of what Waypoint tells you arrives inside the app, not by email. Knowing which is which solves most "I never got it" questions.

Notifications are in the app

Mentions, assignments, new messages, replies, comments and event changes all appear under the bell in your user menu and as a red badge on your avatar. They are not emailed. If you expected an email about activity in a project, that is why none came. See Notifications for the full list of what triggers one.

Why a notification did not appear

  • You cannot see the project. Notifications only go to people with access. Ask to be assigned.
  • It was your own action. You are never notified about things you did yourself.
  • It was chat. Chat only notifies you when you are mentioned by name.
  • The mention did not take. A mention has to be picked from the list that appears when you type @. Typing a name without choosing it is just text.
  • The message was a draft or scheduled. The project is notified when a message is posted now. Scheduled messages appear on the board at their time without a notification.

Email that should have arrived

Waypoint emails you for three things: a team invitation, a password reset and email verification. If one has not arrived:

  1. Check your spam or junk folder.
  2. Make sure the address is right. Invitations go to the exact address the inviter typed; check with them.
  3. Wait a few minutes and, for invitations, ask the inviter to cancel and resend. For password resets, request another from the sign in page.

Still nothing? Write to us with the address you are expecting mail at and we will check delivery from our side.

Still need a hand?
